We Signed the “Pause AI” Letter

Daniel Ryan Reiff, CEO of the Human Creator Alliance, has officially endorsed the Open Letter calling for a pause on “Giant AI Experiments”. The famous “Open Letter” from the Future of Life Institute calls “on all AI labs to immediately pause for at least 6 months the training of AI systems more powerful than GPT-4.”

We think this is a prudent and fair request, considering the many unresolved issues raised in the last year alone, including the documented risks to jobs and the economy, the concerns of mass misinformation proliferation, and the widespread intellectual property infringement that has already been perpetrated in the creation of the current crop of generative AI tools.

The mission of the Human Creator Alliance is one of trust, transparency, and accountability, and to that end, we see much to be gained and little to lose in a mere 6-month pause.
